Over 6 generations the Blacklock business has changed and grown. The one constant has been a love and appreciation of diamonds. From generation to generation intimate knoweldge has been passed down. This sort of knowledge can not be learnt - it becomes intuitive and something
that is used to this very day whenever presenting stones to Clients.

We were one of the first 'Diamond Merchants' in the North of England. This is not something we take lightly and something we are rightly proud of. A reputation forged over multiple generations and something that is foundational to our success

What makes a diamond a 'Blacklock diamond'

We are often asked this question and without hesitation we can answer with certainty. We only select stones that have 'life' about them. This intuitive feel is from looking at thousands of stones and getting a natural understanding for how the characteristics of the stone come to together.  

Excellent cut, near flawless clarity and 'D' colour are just part of the equation. The other part is the raw appreciation of the emotion that the stone can convey.

We only select stones that move us and will therefore move you.

Hand selection

When selecting our diamonds it is essential to get close to them - to touch and inspect them to get an elemental feel for the stone. This is always undertaken by Chris Blacklock FGA.

Few are able to invest the time to do this. We believe it is essential to what makes us different

Ethically sourced stones

Every Blacklock diamond and precious gemstone is ethically sourced. We only procure stones from known sources who operate in a way that we ourselves feel comfortable with. Without question they are mined in accordance with the Kimberly process, and are completely conflict free. We try to ensure the provenance of all of our stones.
