Rob & Katie
Diamond Promise Perfectly Paired
Rob and Katie had been married for over 20 years when they decided to take advantage the Blacklock ‘Diamond Promise’. They had bought a 0.33cts diamond from us years ago when engaged because that is what was possible at that stage.
Having built a successful career in property development Rob was now able to take advantage of the ‘Diamond Promise’ service whereby we were able to buy back the original engagement ring diamond from him and upgrade the design and diamond to something more significant – a 1.50cts diamond set within an 18ct rose gold Brilliance 40 setting.
Rob commented, ‘The whole process from start to finish was seamless – we were presented stones, selected one and settled on the right design for us. Absolutely delighted with the outcome. Even though not significant in terms of value but the trading in of the old diamond was a really nice touch and the level of service from start to finish was exceptional.’
Caroline & Noah
Vibrant Emerald Perfectly Paired
This perfectly paired bespoke creation was to be a surprise – Noah had decided to do the proposal in a traditional fashion. The ring was to be hidden within a book that they both loved from when they travelled around South America in the early days of their relationship. The big reveal was to be a surprise.
Caroline had fallen in love with Emeralds when travelling through Colombia so there was clearly an obvious route to explore for Noah when it came to choosing the right stone. For the design he needed a little more guidance….
Chris Blacklock comments, ‘Noah was fantastically focussed on Emeralds which we all know are amazing stones. Finding one at the right price point which delivered on colour and vibrancy is the challenge and one we were delighted to take on. In the end I found a beautiful 3.05cts Colombian Emerald through our trusted coloured gemstone dealer – minimal oil and beautiful inclusions that enhanced the stone.’
Noah comments, ‘The stones presented were perfect and you could see straight away that Chris Blacklock fully understood what I was looking for. Could not be happier. In the end I settled for a simple design which I knew Caroline would love – a central vibrant green Emerald with baguette diamonds either side. Simple but so meaningful to the both of us.’
John & David
Dante’s Inferno Perfectly Paired
We love a fateful meeting when 2 people are clearly perfectly paired. John and David’s met whilst students at University and became close when studying Dante’s Inferno as part of their English Literature course.
John comments, ‘He read a short paragraph from Dante’s Inferno out loud in class. I heard his Scottish brogue and I was hooked, and then his writing moved me to tears, and I was so embarrassed and even more hooked. At that very moment I knew there was a deeper connection.’
David ‘John wears his heart on his sleeve which for me is such a fantastic thing – I struggle with that personally but John helps me express myself. Our relationship is all about trust and Dante’s Inferno helped us to become close and talk about the deeper meaning of life. So when we decided we would be together we wanted 2 wedding bands that reflected our common outlook on life which is about mutual respect and ensuring we try to do the best by each other – something that was inspired by Dante’s Inferno. Blacklock perfectly encapsulated these sentiments through our wedding bands which are masculine yet elegant and full of character – they remind us of that special moment when we first connected.’
