Virtual appointments with Chris Blacklock (via Zoom, Teams or Whatsapp) can easily be arranged. This one-to-one service will allow you to see our beautiful fine jewellery and loose stones up close and help you to make your selection.

All items under £2,000 are available for purchase directly through the website and are not available for viewing. We have several categories of fine jewellery that we sell through our website;

How we operate

We carry a limited amount of stock including finished fine jewellery and loose diamonds and precious gemstones.

We individually craft each item and therefore each piece is individual and might slightly vary in terms of carat weight etc. to that described on the website – this will be of no material difference in terms of the value of the piece.

Product availability

Products that are ‘in stock’ will be available to purchase and you can ‘add to bag’ through the product page. 

Items with the status of ‘made to order’ will be crafted upon confirmation of the order when ‘added to bag’ through the website. Our team will need to source gemstones and will promptly notify you of any significant changes in specifications compared to those provided online. Please allow up to 12 weeks for delivery. 

Items with the status of ‘guide price’ and ‘one-of-a-kind’ will be bespoke commissions. Our team will source the gemstones and precious metal accordingly. Due to precious gemstone and precious metal price volatility we need to confirm a final price upon request at the time of submission of the contact form.Once price agreed we will request a 50% payment up front and 50% final payment on receipt of goods.

Items with the status ‘limited edition’ have been produced in limited numbers. Once all of the items produced are sold they will not be repeated. The amount of available limited edition products is stated on the relevant product page.

Model for purchase commitment

If requested (at a cost) we can make a silver model of the design prior to purchase commitment.This cost will be reimbursed once the full design and proceed is confirmed. It will then be deducted from the agreed final price of the commission.

Resizing

We offer resizing free of charge for 6 months post purchase. We can alter the sizes of items - whether it be the length of a pendant chain, bracelet or size of ring without issue. Please be aware that it is harder to enlarge a piece than reduce the size of the piece so our recommendation is to always chose the slightly larger size.

Our workshop expertly resizes to achieve the perfect fit. On each product page there is a detailed Sizing Guide that will guide you through the process.

Working out your size

You may already know your ring size, based on a ring you own that is a comfortable fit. Alternatively, visit a local jeweller and ask if they could kindly measure your finger. Avoid trying on a ring when your hands are cold, as your fingers may be up to half a size smaller. A ring should fit snugly on your finger but still be loose enough to remove without excessive pulling.

Buying a ring for someone else

Don't let the fear of choosing the wrong size deter you from surprising someone. If you're unsure of the correct size, we are happy to assist you in selecting an initial size, which can be adjusted later if needed, at no extra charge. In some cases, the item may need to be remade, which can take several weeks, but we will gladly advise you on the best options before you make a purchase. Additionally, we can send you a complimentary ring sizer for reference.

Necklaces

Our most popular necklace length is 18’ (46cm) – this falls just below the neck. We also have opera length necklaces which are 30’ (76cm) – this falls just below the bust. If you prefer a different chain length, we are happy to provide one upon request. Please note that this may incur an additional charge in some cases.

Bracelets

Our bracelets typically measure 7 inches (18 cm). While we can shorten most bracelets for a perfect fit. Depending on the construction of the links lengthening can be more challenging and may require creating a new bracelet. Please contact us for more information about our free alteration service.

Arranging a viewing

For any item over the value of £2,000 we are available for viewing at any convenient time and location. Please use either the contact us form to organise a viewing or via the specific product page Appointment booking.

Please note we require 5 days notice to ensure the necessary arrangements are made.

Delivery

Delivery is subject to stock availability so please check with us directly if the required time frame for delivery is tight. We try to deliver within 5 working days, however this varies dependent on sizing etc. Items that are out of stock can take up to 15 working days to be delivered.Bespoke items by their very nature are subject to a different manufacturing schedule.

We will communicate directly with you, through email or by messenger to keep you informed of the status of your delivery whatever item or service you have purchased through us.

Returns

If you are not completely satisfied with your purchase we will be happy to offer you a refund or exchange.

To return your goods, you must do so within 30 days of receiving your order. This does not affect your statutory rights.

Non-returnable products

The following products cannot be returned:

• Products that are personalised, bespoke, altered or otherwise made to your specification. Please note this does not include made to order items which have had no customisation or items which have been re-sized.

• Pierced earrings

• Any other items designated as non-refundable at the time of purchase

Returns process

We will only accept goods that are unworn, undamaged and in original condition and packaging (Blacklock Jewellery box). Wear of the product can lead to a reduction in the amount of refund you may be entitled to. Please be aware that we cannot refund import duties or taxes on international deliveries and that bespoke items cannot be refunded.

Once goods have been returned to us we will check / assess their condition and then agree in writing the next steps of your refund.

We reserve the right to refuse return of any merchandise that does not meet the above return requirements according to our sole discretion.

UK & US

Please email returns@blacklockjewellery.com stating sales reference number prior to returning the item(s). The item remains your responsibility until we have received it into our possession. Dependent on the value we will recommend the best delivery service and the process when we are contacted on the above email address. We will confirm the return address at that moment in time. 

EU & International

Please email returns@blacklockjewellery.com stating sales reference number prior to returning the item(s). The item remains your responsibility until we have received it into our possession. We recommend sending your return on a tracked international service. When contacted we will recommend the best international delivery service and the process for international returns when we are contacted on the above email address. We will confirm the return address at that moment in time.

Refunds

Refunds will be made within 14 days of the receipt of returned items. All undamaged correctly returned products will be credited to the original purchaser's credit card including sales taxes. In the event of any failure to return goods to us within the stipulated time limits, even though validly cancelled, we shall have the right to charge any costs of recovery of the goods. Returns must be returned in one shipment, any subsequent returns from the same order may incur additional shipping charges.

Blacklock Jewellery will not accept returns of any items that have been worn and/or labels removed. 

Please note that we do not accept liability for returned goods if you do not return them using our specified method of delivery.

General Information
Ring resize guarantee

If you order a ring and it's not quite the right size, let us know within 30 days of receiving your order and our in-house workshop can provide complimentary ring resizing.

Exchanges

We will exchange an item only of the same value for which it was purchased. If you wish to exchange your purchase, please let us know the details when emailing us on exchanges@blacklockjewellery.com .

Faulty items

Faulty items will only be accepted if the goods are delivered to the customer damaged or there is a manufacturing fault within a period of 12 months after delivery.  All items returned as faulty will be inspected and any items deemed to be subject to fair wear and tear will not be accepted as faulty.

We are only able to exchange faulty items for the same item subject to availability. To return a faulty item, please follow the steps above as detailed for returns and exchanges.

Certificates & Authenticity

Once purchase is confirmed and product(s) is ready for delivery we will ensure that all relevant diamond or gemstone certificates are sent with the product(s). We can issue you with a document certifying the authenticity of your Blacklock fine jewellery. This entails all the information necessary for insurance purposes. These will be issued upon request.

Warranty

Blacklock Jewellery guarantees a warranty covers manufacturing and warranty period of twelve months from the date of purchase. The material defects for current products available only.

Sometimes you need to repurpose a treasured piece of jewellery. Breathing new life into an old piece is something we cherish. The cost of this service is determined by the design. We would love to sensitively repurpose your jewellery.

Valuation

For every purchase over the value of £2,000 we will supply an insurance valuation free of charge. Simply request at the point of purchase or through our contact form. If a new valuation is required for an old piece of jewellery please contact us to discuss the requirement.
